‘Tis the season to start planning holiday gifts for the people in you and your dog’s life. As our gift to you, we have a few recommendations to get you started with your holiday shopping and check a few people off your list early.
Dog Walkers/Sitters
If you have a regular dog walker or sitter that you have used throughout the year it is totally appropriate (and appreciated) to give them a little something around the holidays. A little holiday bonus is always a great gift for people who have worked for you throughout the year.
If cash isn’t your style, a gift card to their favorite store or coffee shop is a perfect option–especially if they are starting their walks early in the morning.
To help them out with their walking and sitting needs, cross-body pouches like fanny packs are a must-have, or a new water bottle to take on the road with them for long walks with your pooch.
New Pet Parents
If you have someone in your life who is new to pet parenthood we recommend getting some enrichment toys like hide-and-seek treat pockets.
Chew sticks, like bully sticks, and rope toys are great gifts to help with teething pups as they grow their adult teeth. As always, toys and stuffed animals are a hit with pups!
Monogrammed or embroidered goods with the new pup’s name are always a hit, there are tons of creators on Etsy that specialize in custom dog tags (though not the same as the ones you need from your state!) or collars that are always a hit as gifts.
Your Pup
First, you know your pup best so if they “need” anything, that is the best thing you can get them, but it is fun to actually have some gifts for them under the tree so they can get in on the holiday excitement.
So, go ahead and wrap a little something for your pup whether it’s a huge bone or some much-needed puppy pads. To add to the holiday excitement, you can order a personalized stocking for your dog to hang on your mantel–hopefully, they get presents and not coal! All of the gifts for new pet parents can absolutely apply to your pup as well!
We hope that these gifting ideas help you get some of your holiday shopping underway this season. And most importantly, we wish you and yours a happy and healthy holiday season!
